Research & Provenance
A repository can tell us which data are stored. Provenance asks additional questions: where did the evidence originate, which version was used, what changed, which method performed the change, under whose authority, and what downstream result depended upon it?
The BioChain is being developed as an evidence and provenance layer across systems. Existing repositories and research platforms remain authoritative for the functions they perform; BioChain focuses on preserving the evidence history between them.
For a detailed walkthrough of this architecture, see Origins — the Ancient BioChain journal — or request a demo.
